Fabian was delighted by the repsonse of so many pupils and schools to his 2010 Christmas card Competition. Entries flooded in from over 100 pupils in ten of the constituency schools. Fabian said, "It was very encouraging to see the way that pupils rose to the chllenge of the idea at such a busy time of their school work and I am very grateful."
Entries were kindly judged by David Lascelles and Diane Howse of Harewood House and after long deliberation of the design, message and general artistic flair, and taking account of the varied ages of the pupils concerned, they identified the entry from Charlotte Holliday a young pupil at Cardinal Heenan High School as the winner.
The bright colours, the clear message and the snowman with his own personality have all contributed to making the picture very seasonal and a giving a warm message at Christmas time.
Five other entries were identified for inclusion in the printed Christmas card.
The entries came from Zahra, aged 6yrs at Kerr Mackie Primary School, Aoife, in Year 6 at St Pauls RC Primary, Ethan aged 6 yrs at Brodetsky Primary School (who submitted a Chanuka card), Zoya from Year 2 at Moor Allerton Hall (the youngest winner) and Kiara aged 8 yrs from Chapel Allerton Primary.
Entries were also received from Highfield Primary, Hillcrest Primary, Bracken Edge Primary and Alwoodley Primary Schools.
