Fabian receives the Silver Star Award for services in aid of Diabetes

On Thursday 5th December 2013, Fabian was honoured to receive a Silver Star award in appreciation of his services in aid of those suffering from Diabetes. Silver Star is the charity, founded by Keith Vaz MP which campaigns to promote Diabetes awareness and Fabian has become involved since he discovered his own diabetic condition.

Fabian received his award from the Revd Jesse Jackson, the USA Civil Rights Campaigner and Baptist Minister who was a candidate for the Democrat Presidential Nomination in 1984. The award was presented to Fabian in the light of the support and help he has given to the campaign to promote awareness of diabetes among black and minority ethnic communities in Leeds. Those of Asian and Jewish origins are more susceptible than others to development of the condition.
