Working Tax Credits

Working Tax Credits form the basis of the government scheme to top up the wages of adult earners whose pay is low. The provide additional cash to top up your pay until it about £13000 per year (£250 per week) if you are single and about £17000 if you are a couple. You have to be working at least 30 hours per week and you should remember that receiving tax credits will alter entitlement to housing and council tax benefits.
